Alan Biller and Associates is seeking a highly motivated Research Analyst to join our Menlo Park team, which is currently working remotely. Once the pandemic ends, we expect much of our team to continue working remotely, with periodic trips to the office for training and meetings. Research Analysts will gain exposure to a broad range of asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, private equity, private debt, infrastructure, and commercial real estate.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the senior investment team with conducting manager searches and ongoing post-hire manager monitoring.
  • Support the team in the collection and review of manager quarterly due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).
  • Asset class coverage of public equities and liquid fixed income.
  • Compose quarterly commentaries and other ad hoc updates on managers.
  • Attend manager meetings and calls.
  • Conduct asset allocation studies on behalf of Alan Biller clients.

 

General Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in research at an institutional investment consulting firm or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, eVestment, Morningstar, and MPI software platforms.
  • Demonstrated self-sufficiency and extremely well-organized.
  • Progress towards obtaining the CFA designation a plus, or willingness to enroll in the program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
